Queen Camilla brought a personal touch and a basket of homegrown gifts during a visit to Lower Shockerwick Farm in Somerset this week.

The queen toured the newly established site run by Jamie’s Farm, a charity offering transformative experiences to young people facing difficulties in school.

The farm, near Bath, is the seventh site operated by the organisation and serves as both an educational space and a working farm.

Wearing a vibrant green and white shirt dress, Camilla looked completely at ease as she interacted with staff, volunteers, and children taking part in the day’s activities, which ranged from gardening to baking.

In the farm’s bustling kitchen, she met 11-year-olds Mantaj and Mia, who proudly presented their freshly baked lemon curd cupcakes.

Elsewhere on the farm, the queen helped water geraniums and verbena planted by 10-year-old Gabriel and 11-year-old Adrian.

Camilla, who is Patron of Jamie’s Farm, unveiled a commemorative plaque to officially open the site and offered heartfelt thanks to those involved.

“It’s really thanks to everybody here that this has happened at this really wonderful ancient farm,” she said. “I look forward to seeing it in a year’s time with all the children.”

She also made a promise to visit the charity’s only remaining site she hasn’t yet toured – its farm in Skipton.

“I am yet to get to Yorkshire, but that will be next on my agenda. I promise you I will get there,” she told guests.

Before departing, Camilla gifted the farm a basket of cuttings and seeds personally gathered from her own garden at her private Wiltshire home near Lacock. The collection included foxgloves, hollyhocks, rosemary, mint, and blackcurrant clippings.

“I hope I can come back and see them thriving,” she said fondly.

Since its founding in 2009, Jamie’s Farm has helped more than 16,000 young people aged 11–16, many of whom face social or academic exclusion due to mental health struggles or behavioural challenges. Their stays include daily farm work, reflection, and, perhaps most importantly, a break from technology.

The visit comes during a particularly busy and high-profile week for the queen, who has stepped out for several major events.

Earlier this week, Camilla joined King Charles at Windsor Castle for a glittering state banquet in honour of French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.

There, she dazzled in a white crepe gown and the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, a piece from the late Queen Elizabeth’s collection.

On Wednesday, Camilla also delighted fans with a surprise appearance at Wimbledon, where she was spotted in the Royal Box at Centre Court.

The queen mingled with players and staff, including tennis legend Novak Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam winner later revealed that Camilla surprised him with a “non-tennis-related” question during their chat.
