Princess Diana's former butler slams 'spoiled' Prince Harry over 'petulant' behaviour
Former royal butler Paul Burrell hit out at Prince Harry, calling him "spoiled" and "petulant"
Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, has criticised Prince Harry, claiming the Duke of Sussex has “forgotten” one of his late mother’s most important lessons about duty and public service.
Paul worked closely with Diana until her death in 1997. He has said the Princess of Wales instilled in her sons that “the price for a privileged lifestyle is public service.”
As reported by Express, he reflected on Harry and Meghan’s lavish life in California since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Princess Diana’s butler criticises Prince Harry
“Harry and Meghan have a very privileged lifestyle,” Paul said. “Harry has always had that and Meghan has long aspired for it. But now they share that lifestyle.
“I always circle back to the fact that Harry’s mother taught him long ago that the price for a privileged lifestyle is public service. Harry seems to have forgotten this lesson now he lives a celebrity Hollywood lifestyle that’s totally different from his royal one.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now reside in California, where they have launched the Archewell charitable foundation and built a media empire through Archewell Productions, which produces content for Netflix and podcasts.
However, Paul didn’t hold back when speaking about Prince Harry’s personality. He described the duke as “petulant” and “spoiled.”
“I know from firsthand experience how difficult Harry can be,” he said. “I know how petulant he can be and how spoiled he is, because I’ve experienced that myself. He’s always lived in a bubble.”
In December, Prince Harry laughed off divorce rumours on social media after he and Meghan were pictured attending separate public events.
Paul dismissed the speculation, suggesting their shared ambitions keep them aligned.
He theorised that Harry and Meghan have a common goal to “make themselves as rich as possible”, and their “brand” as a couple is a major draw for the two of them.

Prince Harry rift
Meanwhile, royal commentator and former butler Grant Harrold has weighed in on Prince Harry’s strained relationship with the royal family.
Speaking to The Mirror, Grant reflected on his years working at Highgrove House, recalling how close William and Harry once were.
“William and Harry were so close, as brothers go. They were inseparable. They were hanging out together, going to pubs together, just having fun together.
“If I had been told all those years ago that they were going to fall out, I would’ve bet £100 that it would never happen,” he said.
Asked whether reconciliation is possible, Grant believes healing could happen, but only in private.
“I don’t see Harry and Meghan ever on the palace balcony for Trooping the Colour, for example. But I can see the family patching things up behind closed doors and working towards the king seeing his grandchildren.”
Grant warned royal fans not to expect a full public reunion anytime soon.
