King Charles' touching 'olive branch' to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following London reunion
Last month, Harry met with his father for the first time in almost two years
After years of strained relations, King Charles appears to have quietly extended an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The father and son met privately last month at Clarence House, the king’s London residence.
While some reports claimed their meeting was “distinctly formal,” the Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson pushed back.
They called the claims “categorically false” and “pure invention fed… by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation”.
“We can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over. However, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess,” the spokesperson added, addressing speculation about gifts exchanged during the visit.

King Charles’ ‘olive branch’ to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Now, in an exclusive reveal by The Mirror, King Charles has reportedly been spotted displaying photos of Harry and Meghan inside Hillsborough Castle, his official Northern Irish residence.
The move is being interpreted as a nod toward reconciliation.
The photographs are reportedly placed in the State Drawing Room, one of the most public areas of the castle.
But the decision over what pictures of the family to use ultimately lies with the king.
A royal source told The Mirror: “Royal Historic Palaces make decisions on what they believe to be appropriate. They are also guided by members of the royal family. But the decision over what pictures of the family to use ultimately lies with the king.”
Located just 20 minutes outside Belfast, Hillsborough Castle has been a site of political and historical significance.
It hosted the signing of the Anglo-Irish Agreement in 1985 and welcomed President George W. Bush in 2003. Since 2014, the estate has been managed by Historic Royal Palaces and is open to the public.

Royal family ‘rift’
Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down as senior working royals in 2020 marked the beginning of a highly public royal rift.
After relocating to America, the couple gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey.
The couple opened up about their struggles within the institution, including some damning allegations.
In early 2021, Buckingham Palace announced that the Sussexes would no longer represent the monarchy in an official capacity but would remain “much-loved members of the family”.
Since then, tensions appeared to have cooled slightly, particularly in light of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
Their relationship seems far from fully repaired. However, the king’s decision to publicly display photos of his son and daughter-in-law may signal a possible thawing of the ice.
Royal Insider has contacted reps for Buckingham Palace and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment.

Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship
Unfortunately, the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William appears deeper than ever.
During Harry’s recent trip to the UK, the brothers reportedly didn’t meet. Royal sources claim there has been no communication between them.
Despite Harry’s public calls for reconciliation, royal biographer Robert Lacey told PEOPLE: “The rift is very profound and very long-lasting. It will not be changed until Harry makes a move and apologises.”
Reports suggest William has remained firm in his stance following the Sussexes’ explosive interviews and Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare, in which he alleged William once physically attacked him during an argument about Meghan.
