What Prince William's comment about Harry in Eugene Levy interview 'reveals' about state of their relationship
William referenced his and Harry's upbringing in the chatPrince William briefly mentioned his brother, Prince Harry, during his interview with Eugene Levy.
Chatting to Hollywood actor Eugene, 78, on the star’s Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler, the Prince of Wales referenced his childhood.
William, 43, briefly mentioned his younger brother by name, telling Eugene of his plans for the future of the monarchy: “Obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better.
“That is caveated with, I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up in. I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.”

Now, one royal commentator has shared his thoughts on William’s mention of his younger brother.
Speaking about William’s brief mention of Harry and no mention of Meghan Markle, Robert Lacey, author of Battle of Brothers, told PEOPLE: “They are clearly part of the past. He talked about his brother in the past, as part of his life — not in the future.”
Meanwhile, royal biographer Andrew Morton added to the publication: “If you want the prince to talk openly, you avoid asking about his brother.”
Eugene himself addressed why he didn’t delve into Harry and William’s relationship. It’s believed that the brothers haven’t spoken properly for some years.
Their relationship has reportedly been strained over the years. It’s believed those strains deepened after Harry’s tell-all interviews and memoir Spare, which contained allegations about his family.
In his book, Harry alleged that William physically attacked him during a disagreement over Meghan in 2019.

Schitt’s Creek star Eugene explained the reason he didn’t ask William about Harry, 41, during their time together.
Speaking to ITV, Eugene opened up about the questions he put to the future king.
He talked about his brother in the past, as part of his life — not in the future.
ITV News’ royal editor Chris Ship asked Eugene: “Were you ever told you couldn’t ask questions, for example, about Harry and Meghan? Did you find that was just something you didn’t want to go near?”

Eugenie replied: “I was not told I couldn’t ask anything, but it wasn’t really, you know, up to me, to get into that.”
Meanwhile, the actor said he had “no interest” in asking William about his brother. Eugene added: “It was, you know, a very delicate issue and certainly not up to me to get into it.”
