Kate Middleton opens up about Prince George’s hobby

While honouring Britain’s war heroes, the Princess of Wales revealed her 12-year-old son’s deep fascination with aviation.

As reported by ITV News, whilst speaking to 100-year-old RAF veteran Geoffrey Spencer, who flew Lancaster Bombers during the Second World War, Kate shared: “George very much likes Airfix models and the Lancaster Bomber. He knows much more about aircraft than me.”

As reported by HELLO!, the touching exchange was witnessed by Mr Spencer’s son-in-law, Will Clarke, who warmly told Kate: “As you know, it’s all about family. Credit to you and William.”

The anecdote follows reports that Prince George had his first flying lesson in 2024.

According to The Sun, the young royal reportedly flew with an instructor at White Waltham Airfield, near the family’s Windsor residence, as Prince William and Kate looked on.

Flight seems to run in the royal bloodline. Prince William also trained as a search and rescue helicopter pilot in 2009.

Meanwhile, Prince George surprised fans on Saturday when he made his official debut at the Festival of Remembrance alongside his mother.

Kate attends service for Remembrance Day

Today’s service marked a milestone for the Princess of Wales, as it was her first time attending the National Memorial Arboretum on Armistice Day.

She observed the traditional two-minute silence at 11am GMT, before laying a wreath at the Armed Forces Memorial on behalf of the royal family.

Attached was a handwritten message that read: “In memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we will remember them. Catherine.”

Following the service, Kate viewed the names etched into the memorial. She also spoke with veterans who had travelled for the event.

Meanwhile, members of the public crowded to catch a glimpse of the royal.

72-year-old Josephine Bradburn described the thrill of meeting the princess as the “perfect birthday present”.

“I got to shake her hand,” she gushed to GB News. “She said what a lovely place it was and what an honour it was to be asked to come here today. She asked us where we were from.

“I’m absolutely blown away by it. It’s an amazing birthday present. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
