'Panic behind Palace walls' amid 'calls' for King Charles to abdicate

The royal family are always open to criticism, but calls for abdication are very serious stuff regardless of what is going on in the royal sphere.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that King Charles could be facing his own annus horribilis given the mounting scrutiny upon the crown.
Since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest, royal observers have been looking toward the royal family and eyeing what is next for them.
And now, it seems, there is panic bubbling behind palace walls. King Charles is said to be facing a damning narrative.
The media seems to feel his actions following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s misconduct are too little…too late.
King Charles facing ‘calls’ for abdication
“If the monarchy is to survive, there is only one solution: King Charles must go,” one columnist recently penned, as per Closer.
Elsewhere, former royal butler Paul Burrell chimed in: “The monarchy has to be bigger than any one person. So, it’s in safe hands if it goes to William.”
Although King Charles seems to be backing the investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, an insider has claimed that things are starting to slip in the palace.

The royal family allegedly feel like all this bad news is akin to hounds growling at the door. Evidently, the feeling within the palace is pretty dire…

They told Closer: “There’s a feeling of panic behind palace walls right now. It feels like the hounds are at the door because more and more people are saying this could spell the end of the public’s support for the Crown. It does seem like the gates are just opening and that more and more is going to come out. He’s now being accused of bringing a woman who was being trafficked by Epstein in and out of the Palace, right under the Queen’s nose. It’s hard to fathom that she wouldn’t have been made aware. And Charles too.”
Meanwhile, it seems Prince William and Princess can feel the burden on their shoulders.
The Heir Apparent and his wife are said to be preparing to right the ship. And as Prince Harry allegedly believes that his and Meghan’s “fresh faces,” are the secret to saving the monarchy, it looks like King Charles could be on the brink of being pushed out.
Royal news: ‘The monarchy is in survival mode’
“The monarchy is in survival mode. And William and Kate do feel it’s on their shoulders to right the ship. They have let it be known the only way forward is full accountability and transparency,” the source explained. The insider went on to say: “They want a full investigation and the want the details made public. They aren’t going to cover for Andrew, or anyone. They are fighting for their futures right now and taking a very hard stance on this.”
Elsewhere, another source has discussed the strain being shifted onto Prince William and Princess Kate. They believe it is already having an impact on the duo.

“The Princess looked so elegant but you can see that this is all causing strain and that’s the last thing she needs,” a source said to be present at the event said of Kate’s appearance at the BAFTAs.
And on their glam night out, William even hinted that he is feeling the pressure, whilst discussing films, he was heard stating that he isn’t “calm” enough at the moment to properly sit down and enjoy one.
