Prince Harry reportedly shared a sweet moment with a grieving woman on his flight home from Australia.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Australia for a four-day tour. They did a string of charitable engagements and made some meaningful visits.

But on the flight home, Harry apparently had some touching words for a woman who had been in Australia to attend her grandmother’s funeral.

Prince Harry’s moment with woman on flight home from Australia

According to reports, Justine Parkhurst was on the same flight as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She was flying home to North Carolina via Los Angeles after attending her grandmother’s funeral in Sydney.

She revealed that the Duke of Sussex, who lost his own grandmother Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, was seated beside her in first class.

And, in a sweet moment, Prince Harry stepped in to console Ms Parkhurst when she began crying.

As reported by the Daily Mail, in a Facebook post, Ms Parkhurst shared her story.

Ms Parkhurst explained that Harry’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was sat “across from him” while the couple’s security guards were “right behind them”.

‘He was very nice and so was his wife’

She explained: “I sat down and a few tears started to roll down my face, I’m always happy to get the upgrade for that long flight but I wished I had not been on the plane at all.

“I didn’t even notice the person sitting next to me until they were adjusting the seat and getting comfortable. It was Prince Harry. His wife was across from him and their security guards right behind them.”

Ms Parkhurst added: “We chatted for a minute and I told him that my Nan is the only one I really wanted to tell about sitting next to the royal. He said, ‘She already knows.’ I believe he is right, I bet she arranged the whole thing.”

When approached for comment, Ms Parkhurst told the Daily Mail: “I will tell you that he was very nice and so was his wife. They were sweet to everyone and each other.”

Why were Harry and Meghan in Australia?

According to Harry and Meghan’s office, the couple’s Australia trip focused on “mental health, community resilience, and support for veterans and their families, alongside private meetings and special projects”.

During one engagement in Melbourne, Harry opened up candidly about becoming a father.

He and Meghan have son Prince Archie, six, and daughter Princess Lilibet, four.

In a discussion about fatherhood hosted by Movember, Harry admitted: “Certainly from a therapy standpoint, you want to be the best version of yourself for your kids.

“And I knew that I had stuff from the past that I needed to deal with, and therefore prepare myself to basically cleanse myself of the past.”

He added: “From my perspective, our kids are our upgrade. That’s not how I was taught but that was my take on it. Not to say I was an upgrade of my dad or that my kids are an upgrade of me. That’s the approach that I take, to know that with the world the way that it goes, the kids that we bring up in today’s world need to be an upgrade.”
