“I find these environments are really hard. I’ve also got a very soft voice. So, I always get told, ‘Speak up a bit louder!’,” she admitted in a clip shared by a fan to X.

The princess could be seen sporting a lilac-pink dress, with a radiant smile in the footage. It captured her as she conversed against a buzzing backdrop at the reception, where people could be heard chatting all around.

Kate has previously admitted that her “soft voice” earned her a name as a child.

During an official visit to her alma mater, St. Andrew’s School, in 2012, she said of having two guinea pigs as a child: “There was one called Pip and one called Squeak, because my sister was called Pippa and I was Squeak,” as per The Mirror.

Princess Kate Middleton shares moving moment with guest

Elsewhere, the Princess of Wales was caught up in a widely circulating moment where she embraced a fellow guest.

Princess Kate Middleton met Tony Gledhill, 88, who told her that his wife had recently died.

He also explained that before her death, his wife had insisted that he attend the reception.

You can see Kate and Tony’s meeting here. In the footage, they held each other’s arms as they spoke. Evidently, Kate then went in for a hug.

It was an undeniably sweet moment. However, some have questioned whether this was a breach of royal protocol.

Traditionally, people aren’t allowed to touch a royal unless one offered their hand.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has weighed in on the tradition.

Speaking on behalf of OLBG, etiquette expert Harrold said: “Kate Middleton is embracing the former officer back, which is quite sweet. But it is technically a breach of protocol.

“You’re not supposed to touch anyone in the royal family. Kate is very calm and collected in her approach. She is being the perfect royal and just going with it.”
