Buckingham Palace 'under threat' as worrying 'warning' issued over danger in the area
The home to the royals was involved in a worrying update
The unprecedented temperatures in the UK at the moment caused Buckingham Palace to share a surprising message about a danger in the area.
As per reports, the 775-room royal abode was said to be under threat earlier this week.

Buckingham Palace reportedly under threat
Wildfire mapping showed that there had been hotspots in the parks close by to the palace that could have lead to a dangerous fire.
Map Impact, the organisation behind WildFire View mapping explained, as per Hello: “Wildfires represent a significant threat to communities, ecosystems, and infrastructure, particularly during the increasingly frequent dry spells in the United Kingdom.”
The organisation explained at the time that “increased susceptibility to wildfires from human ignition due to urban density” was part of the problem.
Richard Flemmings, CEO, Map Impact told the publication: “The risk around Buckingham Palace has risen. And our data shows it will continue to do so. The Palace sits at the convergence of three of London’s most historically significant green spaces (St James’s Park, Green Park and the Palace gardens) and it is precisely that green setting which drives the hazard. Our WildfireView data shows that the highest susceptibility zones in this area cluster at the edges of the parks, where dry, fine grassland meets the paths, café areas and entrance points where visitors concentrate.”
On the Royal Parks Facebook page, a warning was also shared with the public.

Royal Parks issue message over dangerous conditions
It read: “As we welcome everyone to the parks to enjoy the warmer weather this weekend, we want to offer a reminder around the increased risk of wildfires due to these higher temperatures and dry ground. Please remember that BBQs are not permitted in the parks. And make sure that cigarette ends are completely out and properly disposed of. Fires in the parks put people in danger, cause devastating harm to wildlife, damage to landscapes and habitats, and a strain on the emergency services.

“If you do spot a fire in the park then use what3words to give an exact location to London Fire Brigade. Visitors are also reminded to take litter home or place it in bins as glass bottles increase the risk of a fire. Finally, although you may be looking for ways to keep cool, swimming in any lake or waterbody within the Royal Parks is forbidden apart from in the Serpentine Lido at designated times.”
Record-breaking day for the UK
The Met Office also spoke out on Tuesday, highlighting just how hot it was in London.
“It was another record-breaking day for the UK, with the all-time May maximum temperature record broken for the second consecutive day.”
At the time, King Charles was visiting York, where he spoke to staff at a redeveloped cancer centre.
We hope the other royals stayed cool!
