Prince Edward and Princess Anne’s worries for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
It comes as Andrew has been lying low at Sandringham after he was released under investigation after his shock arrest in February.
The former Duke of York was said to have been visited by Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie in recent weeks. It seemed that Edward was taking a chance to check up on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has largely been shunned from the royal fold.
In October last year, the palace announced that Andrew’s remaining royal titles and honours would be removed. It came amid renewed scrutiny around his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
For years, Andrew has faced backlash and questions over his links to the disgraced financier. He has also faced allegations of sexual assault.
Virginia Giuffre, who took her own life last April, alleged she was made to have sex with Andrew on three separate occasions in the early 2000s when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.
Andrew always vehemently denied these allegations.

Prince Edward and Princess Anne could push against King Charles over Andrew’s wellbeing
Elsewhere, Prince Edward and Princess Anne are reportedly very unhappy with the way their brother is being treated.
They are said to be ready to push back against King Charles and his “harsh” treatment.
An insider alleged to Closer: “Edward and Anne both feel things have gone too far. They’re very worried about Andrew’s state of mind and say he’s been pushed to the brink. It’s not about excusing what he’s done, they respect that the legal side must move forward, but they think the way it’s being handled within the family has been too harsh and could end up backfiring if he becomes even more unstable. From their point of view, he’s still family, and there must be some duty of care there.”
Speaking of King Charles’ approach, the insider said: “He’s much more resolute, some might say cold. It’s because he’s been trained from birth to protect the institution at all costs. He says he’s doing his duty, as uncomfortable as it might be, and he plans to stay the course regardless of what Anne or Edward have to say. Of course, now he’s angry with them because he doesn’t take kindly to being questioned or undermined. The atmosphere behind closed doors has turned very tense.”
Apparently, the dynamic between the four siblings has often been this way, according to the claims.

“Ironically, this same dynamic has gone on for a lot of their lives. Growing up, it was always Andrew and Edward that were close, with Anne playing the protective older sister and Charles mostly ignoring them. Charles and Anne are close in age, so they’ve always had a close bond. But he’s so much older than Andrew and Edward, he never got close to them, and there’s no doubt that’s a factor in the way he has been able to deal with the situation. Truth be told, some people feel that Charles almost sees Andrew as another problem to be managed,” the insider went on to claim: “Anne and Edward aren’t blind to what he’s done, but they still have a lot of fondness for him, and they say they can’t ignore that he’s become dangerously isolated.”
The two siblings are said to be worried that Andrew is showing “concerning signs” mental health wise.
They are said to feel a responsibility for him as their brother. Even if it means going up against King Charles.
Andrew always vehemently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Being mentioned in the Epstein Files does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing.
