Princess of Wales ‘supremely confident’ during Italy visit

This trip to Italy is the Princess of Wales’ first official overseas work trip since her cancer diagnosis.

In early 2024, Princess Catherine announced she would be undergoing treatment for cancer. Her treatment completed in September of that year and she announced in January 2025 that she was in remission.

Since then, she has been slowly returning to duties while prioritising her health.

According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Kate appeared “supremely confident” in Italy. Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: “Kate shows so much in such a short space of time. She is supremely confident, exiting the car with a massive genuine smile – her whole face was engaged. She had an instant connection with the Italian dignitaries, matching and mirroring them straight away.”

He added: “She takes big strides which is linked to confidence, as is the way she places her hands on her hips. Her eye contact was strong throughout. This confidence combined with her genuine enjoyment and warmth draws people to her instantly. Her gestures were quickly reciprocated by those waiting for her.

I felt very emotional driving and seeing everyone there.

“She is a real shining light of the royal family and her ability to conduct herself on a solo trip so expertly makes her such a vital asset to the monarchy.”

Why is Kate in Italy?

The princess’ trip to Italy has focused on her Early Childhood work. She previously launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, an initiative to advance understanding of the importance of early development.
