'Crucial difference' Prince William and Princess Kate are making with controversial family decision
The couple prioritise family lifePrince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, have “worked so hard at achieving for their children,” a royal commentator has said.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has said William and Catherine’s family decisions over the years are making a “crucial difference”.

William and Kate’s decisions over their children are ‘making crucial difference’
Speaking to the Mirror, Jennie said Charlotte in particular is “beaming with confidence”. And this is a result of William and Kate’s parenting.
She said: “Charlotte now looks to be beaming with confidence, and as stylish as her mum at events like the Easter service at Windsor where she happily waved at the cameras and crowds.
“I think confidence in any child is born of a happy and stable home life. And that is precisely what William and Catherine have worked so hard at achieving for their children. Judging by the three of them, their parents have done a good job. In recent decades, the royals have, with some justification, been labelled one of the most dysfunctional families in the land. And that needs to change.”
Jennie pointed out that William and Kate often take time off when their children are out of school. This has proven controversial over the years, with some critics slamming the couple’s decision.
She said: “William and Catherine have faced criticism for making that change, by ring-fencing school holidays, for example, and by simply being there for their children in the way royals of the past have not always been. And I think it’s making a crucial difference.”

Prince William opens up about parenting
Earlier this year, the Prince of Wales opened up about how he and Catherine parent at home.
In February, William made an appearance on a special episode of BBC Radio 1’s Life Hacks programme.
William joined a panel to discuss male mental health and suicide. The prince opened up candidly about his own mental health, explaining that he takes a “long time trying to understand my emotions”.
William and Catherine have faced criticism for making that change.
William was asked if his children open up about their emotions too.
The prince quipped: “Yes, sometimes too much. I get all the details, which I love. It’s amazing. Being able to understand it, have time with it, decipher it, sometimes.
“You feel a sense that you need to fix it for everyone and that I find quite difficult. I have to remind myself that you don’t need to fix everything but you need to listen and it’s important to be ok with those feelings and comments.”
